The power sun UV is a self-ballasted mercury vapour lamp which emits UVA, UVB and heat all in one lamp. Fits into a standard ceramic socket. The 100 watt projects UVB up to several feet from the lamps surface and is ideal for large terrariums or bird aviaries. Include quality nickel plated threads to prevent corrosion and a full one year warranty. Watts: 100. Specialist bulbs such as the ZooMed PowerSun need to be installed and handled correctly to ensure they are not accidentally damaged in operation, we recommend to follow the steps below: Only use an appropriate specialist heat resistant fitting that can handle a high powered bulb and attach this to a surge protector whilst in operation. Never use a thermostat or other temperature controlling device - this bulb must be allowed to run at full power. (Accordingly it is only suitable for a large vivarium that offers plenty of airflow around the bulb to avoid overheating).
