Annual climbing herb. The stems and branches are rough, with ridges and grooves, and have soft hairs. The stem is thick and usually has 2-4 branches. surface, usually with dark longitudinal stripes, fleshy when immature, dry when mature, with reticular fibers inside, and covered by the tip. The seeds are mostly black, ovate, flat, smooth, and have edges that are not narrow or winged. The flowering and fruiting periods are summer and autumn.
