Dip in the Urine

After urinating into a disposable cup, dip the ovulation test strip tip into the urine for 5-10 seconds.

Do not immerse past the MAX line indicated on the strip.

Wait 3-5 Minutes

Lay the strip flat on a clean, dry, non-absorbent surface. Results will show in 3-5 minutes.

Do not read results after 5 minutes.

Read the Results

• Positive (LH Surge): Two color bands are visible, and the test band is EQUAL to or DARKER than the control band, you will probably ovulate in the next 24-48 hours. If trying to get pregnant, the best time to have intercourse is after 24 but before 48 hours.
• Negative (No LH Surge): Only one color band appears on the control region, or the test band appears but is lighter than the control band.
• Invalid: No visible band at all or only in the test region.

When to Start Testing

Determine the length of menstrual cycle before the test will help you know when to begin testing. The day that your period starts is counted as day 1 of your menstrual cycle. Please refer to the chart to determine when you should start testing.

If your cycle is shorter than 21 days or longer than 38 days, consult a physician.

What is the Right Timing

• LH Ovulation Test: The best time to test is between 11:00 am and 10:00 pm. Do NOT use first morning urine for testing LH because LH does not appear in the urine until later in the day.
• HCG Pregnancy Test: Use first morning urine for the HCG pregnancy test because the concentration of the HCG is highest right after you wake up.
