Most commercially available CoQ10 uses Ubiquinone which is the fully oxidized form of Coenzyme Q10 and the form generally sold commercially. Once ingested and absorbed in the body – more than 90% of the ingested Ubiquinone is converted into its “active” antioxidant form called Ubiquinol. However, research, (in animals and humans), has shown Ubiquinol to be absorbed better than Ubiquinone. Therefore, Ubiquinol might afford an advantage over ubiquinone especially in individuals who do not absorb regular CoQ10 from supplements too well.
