Type of Flies

A fly fisherman is only as good as his flies. A well-crafted fly can make the difference between a long day of casting with no bites and a successful day on the water. There are three main types of flies: dry flies, nymphs, and streamers. Dry flies float on the surface of the water and imitate the adult form of aquatic insects such as mayflies, grasshoppers, ants, beetles, or mice.
