Question 1. Which cameras are compatible with this NVR?

A: All XM solution IP cameras (eg Evtevision, Westshine, Lookcctv, ABRON brands) could work with this Westshine 16ch 4K NVR. Only use cameras of equal or lower resolution (4K, 6MP, 5MP, 4MP, 3MP, 2MP/1080P IP Cameras etc.).

Question 2: Could third party brand cameras add to this NVR?

A: This Westshine NVR supports Open Network Video Interface Forum IP cameras, which may have limited motion detection and PTZ support depending on camera manufacturer. Since different suppliers use different protocols, we could only ensure the full compatibility(live view) between the NetIP IP cameras mentioned above and the Westshine NVRs.

A hard drive (also known as HDD) is NOT INCLUDED. You must separately purchase one with a capacity of your choice up to 8TB in size. We recommend using mainstream 3.5 inch security grade hard drive. Other types of hard drives may cause your NVR to stutter, skip, freeze and will prematurely fail due to constant writing conditions.
IP cameras are NOT INCLUDED and are sold separately.
Regarding motion detection function, it is highly depend on your IP cameras protocol. (Please be sure your IP cameras supports same Open Network Video Interface Forum protocol with ours, otherwise motion function may not work properly.)
Default login user name is admin, you must be set password for device, otherwise you can not access to system.
This NVR Requires a Hardwired Ethernet Connection Directly to Your Router to Operate.
