B-Corp Certification Weleda is a B-Corp Business certified. This significant achievement means that we are now part of an international movement of companies that do business in a meaningful way, with high standards and values anchored in corporate bylaws. And, while 80 points are required for B Corp Certification, we scored a solid 106.8 and with recertification every three years, we have now embarked on a process that aims for continuous improvement. | UEBT Certified The UEBT label, issued by the Union for Ethical BioTrade, certifies all of our actions pertaining to the sourcing of natural ingredients for Weleda natural cosmetics. It ensures consumers that we care about people and biodiversity: the soil, microorganisms, water and air as well as plants, animals and the people involved in sourcing our natural ingredients. We bear responsibility for the people who grow, harvest and process our natural ingredients. Only by working together can we ensure that these habitats are not exploited, but used and protected sustainably. This is what the UEBT label stands for. Weleda is one of the first companies worldwide to carry the UEBT label on its products. Union for Ethical Bio-Trade, Member since 2011 | Weleda pledges to plant a million trees In 2021, Weleda's Centenary year, we decided to mark this incredible milestone and celebrate Weleda's 100 year history, whilst simultaneously looking to the future, by pledging to plant a Weleda forest in collaboration with the environmental charity TreeSisters. The aim of this long-term project is to plant one million trees to combat climate change. The Weleda vision is to plant a magnificent forest of trees. Not a single location but a forest of a million trees planted around the world where trees are needed most urgently - to reclaim endangered rainforest, prevent flooding or soil erosion, protect natural habitats, support local communities in some of the poorest countries in the world, and empower women in the workplace. TreeSisters funds tropical reforestation projects globally with a focus on initiatives either run by women or supporting women around the world. |
