In 1942, Mateao Muela Velasco, the founding father of our company, decided to cultivate olive trees in the Subbética Cordobesa region, in the heart of Andalusia. Today, already the fourth generation of the Muela family is tending to the land. We care for our olive groves in the traditional manner, resulting in a very special extra virgin olive oil.

The cold-pressed and cold-extracted extra virgin Venta Del Baron olive oil is the most exquisite olive oil in our collection. Not only due to its nutritional quality, evidenced by a very high polyphenol content (532mg/kg) and extremely low acidity (0.2%), but also because of its outstanding culinary characteristics that have earned it a place in the finest Michelin-starred kitchens.

No preservatives and artificial colours added. Since 1998 Venta del Barón, included in the PDO Priego de Córdoba, has received more than 80 awards in 8 different countries, which include "World's Best Olive Oil" by the International Olive Council as well as "Spain's Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil" from the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture.
