Pond tips for the spring.

During the winter months the pond 'rests'. Fish are less active and barely visible. But as soon as spring arrives, you can start the pond work and get a healthy water part again.

Velda makes spring care easy with a step plan.

Step by step.


Step 1: Bring water hardness into the solder. Measure the water values and bring them in order with GH Plus and KH Plus. GH values between 8° and 12° DH and KH values between 6° and 8° DH are ideal for the pond. Test the water regularly to get insight into the development of the pond environment.	Step 2: Add bacteria to the water. The water purifying bacteria in Bacterial start the pond and start directly with the biological 'cleaning'. This keeps the water clear and the biological balance is quickly restored. Then the plants grow well and keep the fish healthy.	Step 3: Avoid green water. Algae can be formed in spring even before the aquatic plants begin to grow. The UV-C lamp in the filter kills floating algae and ensures clear water. Replace the lamp for a consistently good result in spring.	Step 4: Thinking of planting. Now the pond is ready for new aquatic plants to be placed. You can multiply and transplant existing pond roses and marsh plants. Use spacious plant baskets and special pond potting soil. For targeted fertilisation of pond plants, use fertiliser balls.
