-30 ml cream • Ice cubes

PREPARATION

Step 1 Steam the double espresso and mix with the Van Houten Ground Milk Chocolate. Stir.

step 2 Pour the cream onto the ice cubes and add the chocolate mix.

The history of Van Houten began in 1815 when Casparus Van Houten opened a chocolate factory in Amsterdam. Cacao beans were ground into a fine mass which would then be mixed either with milk to create a chocolate drink or with sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla to make cookies.

Then in 1828, Casparus invented the hydraulic cocoa press, separating the cocoa butter from the liquor in order to create a lighter and more nutritious cocoa powder. Inheriting his father's passion for cocoa, his son Coenraadsubsequently invented the renowned Dutching process of alkalizing cocoa to improve both taste and solubility and set the standard for the cocoa-based drinks we know and love today.
