Jamaica Sun Ackee is the true fruit of Jamaica. Jamaica Sun Ackee goes through strict quality control to ensure it is the best quality ackee with the least mashed up Ackee inside. This unique fruit is, to the surprise of many, eaten as vegetable: in Vol-aux-vents, with rice, in quiches and most often in one of Jamaica's signature dishes - Ackee and Saltfish. The Ackee is found on a medium size tree that bears magnificent red and yellow pear shaped fruits. When ripe the pod nautrally bursts open into three sections to expose three shiny black seeds, each attached to a yellow edible aril. It is this aril that is consumed after the seed has been removed. To a real Jamaican there is no substitute for the taste of Ackee, the national fruit of Jamaica - it is the true taste of home. Ingredients Ackee Fruit, Water and Salt Directions Ackee and Saltfish: Soak 400 g saltfish in water. Boil for approx 15-20 minutes, until tender. Drain, remove skin, de-bone and set aside. Sauce diced tomatoes and pepper in oil. Add saltfish and drained Ackee. Cover and let simmer. Serve hot and enjoy. Box Contains Each order comes with 12 x 280 g cans of Jamaica Sun Ackee in Salt Water

Maintenance : Upon receiving your Grocery package, store it in a dry cool place immediately to prevent it from spoiling. After using the product, close the packaging or transfer leftover items into another container with a lid. Furthermore, be sure to read the maintenance instructions thoroughly to avoid future misunderstandings. Safe packaging : It’s a Third Party Product. Our professional and experienced supervisors monitor the process of making Grocery from it’s origin to packaging to avoid any disappointments. We take care in delivering the item to you safely, taking all necessary precautions against germs and viruses. Please Make sure to use the products before they got expired. Uses : Ackee fruits are best suited for cooked applications such as boiling and frying. Ackee has a soft texture and delicate nutty taste, neutral enough to absorb the flavor of whatever it’s cooked with; this tempers the sharp, bright, saltiness and firm, dry texture of saltfish. Ingredients : Ackee, Water, Salt. Soaking and boiling the salt cod in several changes of fresh water leeches salt from the fish and makes it palatable. Adding ackee right at the end of cooking and just warming it through ensures it will retain some texture. About the product : The national fruit of Jamaica, Ackee is a soft and delicious yellow-orange fruit which is eaten as a vegetable, most commonly in Jamaica's signature dish: Ackee.
