Tripp Lite's B072-016-1A NetCommander Cat5 KVM Switch is the smart solution for controlling multiple computers and servers from one monitor, keyboard and mouse. Requiring just 1U of rack space, it features heavy-duty construction, premium connectors and superior functionality. The B072-016-1A can control up to 16 servers/computers directly, with no server-resident software required. Servers connect to the switch with inexpensive Cat5e/6 patch cabling that reduces cable clutter and conserves valuable rack space and can be located up to 100 ft. away from the switch.

The B072-016-1A is compatible with both PS/2 and USB server connections (Tripp Lite B078-101-Series server interface units and Cat5 patch cables are required; sold separately). Because compatibility is based on common hardware standards rather than system software dependencies, almost any platform can be accommodated. Connect multiple versions of multiple platforms in any combination, including Windows, Mac, UNIX, Linux, Sun and DOS.

Gives IT Managers the Tools for Easy and Convenient Control

The B072-016-1A allows an on-screen display (OSD) resolution of 1600 x 1200 (75 Hz). It provides a graphical user interface with a variety of management tools. Users may also select a connected computer using on-console pushbuttons or keyboard hotkey commands. Two LEDs per KVM port indicate when a computer is connected, powered on and selected. This switch is compatible with all major operating systems. No server-resident software is required, so server performance and reliability are never compromised. Upgradable firmware fine-tunes compatibility with emerging standards.

The B072-016-1A accepts an optional IP remote access unit (Tripp Lite model B051-000) that provides secure access over IP with no additional rack space needed. Remote access enables system administration, BIOS-level troubleshooting, GUI application installations, equipment reboots and other IT functions to be accomplished from virtually anywhere in the world using a standard browser or multi-platform client software.
