Dig a Hole and Set the Golf Cup Level with Ground Use a post hole digger or small shovel to create a small hole that is 6 inches deep and a minimum of 4.25" in diameter. Insert the plastic golf pin cup and fill dirt around so it is level with surrounding ground area. (Optional): If you decide not to use the cup, omit this step and insert the flag deep enough into the soil that it will stand by itself.	Assemble the Flag Pole and Insert Into the Plastic Cup Start by inserting the red pole onto the white pole with the black pointed tip. The black pointed section inserts into the plastic cup or into the ground. Next, insert the white pole onto the red pole with the black ring positioned at the top of your flag. The top rod has a ring at the top, with two sliding mounts with a tab and a hole. Attach the two cords at the top to the ring using a double knot. For the remaining strings, attach them to each sliding mount with a double knot. Insert pole into the cup where the black pointed piece pierces the ground.
