Will this lead stop my dog pulling?

A figure of 8 lead works by a simple pressure & release system. When pulling the lead will tilt your dogs head down and when pressure is released, the lead will relax. This should help discourage the pulling action.

What size is best for my dog?

If you have a dog like a Terrier breed, we recommend the small/ medium lead. Dogs like Labradors etc, we recommend medium/large. If you have a medium size dog, either lead will be ok. The only difference is the thickness of rope, not length.

How do I get my dog used to wearing the lead?

We recommend you don't try to force your dog to wear the lead. Gradually introduce the lead to the dog, you can just use it as a slip lead at the start and gradually introduce the loop over the nose. Reward with treats coupled with persistence.

Can I use this as a slip lead as well?

Yes, this lead can also be used as a slip lead.

Can my dog still open their mouth to drink?

Yes of course. The figure of 8 buckle is not fixed or anything its only purpose is to position the rope. Your dog will still be able to open their mouth to eat, drink and pant.
