After discovering a new way to treat back pain, the late Robin McKenzie, a New Zealand physiotherapist, devoted the next 40 years to developing a system of examination and treatment for non-specific spinal mechanical pain. In 1968, Robin and his wife Joy sewed the world’s first lumbar roll at their kitchen table, and in 1980 Robin’s first book Treat Your Own Back was published. Recognized and celebrated internationally, Robin is considered one of the most prominent physiotherapists of all time.

The Small and Soft Low Back Support

The Early Compliance lumbar roll significantly compresses and conforms to the lower back, providing a small amount of support for the lumbar region for those that cannot tolerate a larger support. It is intended for youth, petite persons, or patients with acute discomfort who cannot tolerate a larger size lumbar roll.

With a 3.75 inch diameter, this roll is 1 inch smaller than The Original McKenzie Lumbar Roll.

In acute cases, the Early Compliance Roll can be used temporarily until function and mobility are restored. At that point, the patient can switch to the fuller support of The Original McKenzie Lumbar Roll, SuperRoll Lumbar Support, or D-Section Lumbar Roll (linked below).
