The Coconut Kitchen produces award winning, restaurant quality Thai curry pastes and sauces for retail & foodservice. Our aim is to help our customers make their ultimate Thai dish, easily and to never disappoint anyone's taste buds!

The Coconut Kitchen was born out of a desire to bring an authentic Thai taste to the UK. With our range, creating delicious, authentic Thai meals but with the greatest of ease.

The range was all developed in from the mouth-watering recipes that we served at the beginning of this culinary journey in 2006 when The Coconut Kitchen restaurant first open its doors. The original co-founders Paul and Preechaya first started the business in a food truck in a caravan site in the seaside town of Abersoch, North Wales. It was a roaring success, proving that restaurant-quality Thai cuisine can be created anywhere.

FOCUS ON RETAIL BRAND

In 2018, the team decided to focus their energies on creating products to help everyone in the UK prepare delicious Thai food at home and so closed the doors to the restaurant for the last time. Now it was time to ramp up production of the retail sauces! With 11 Great Taste Awards already under their belt and many exciting new product launches on the way, The Coconut Kitchen is inspiring families throughout the UK and beyond to bring the taste of Thailand into their homes.

Preechaya is now building a new business in private Thai dining and online cooking classes.

Paul meanwhile, after spending 15 years on extended trips to Thailand, learning and cooking Thai food with many local chefs and street food vendors he has gained so more knowledge about this amazing cuisine than he ever dreamt of !

Great Taste - Easy to Cook Pastes

It so simple to make Thai curries with The Coconut Kitchen Curry paste.

You will think you are eating your dish in Thailand or in a Thai Restaurant, as all the chef's seasonings are included in the paste.

Just add a tin of coconut milk to the paste and you meat, fish, and/or vegetables and you have a true authentic Thai curry in minutes.

Massaman curry was voted into the top ten best dishes of the World in a CNN online poll in 2011. Our paste (in many of our customers' opinion) is the best tasting Massaman curry recipe. We call this "Easy" because all the seasonings and spices have been roasted and blended to our exacting specifications. So you get delicious Thai dishes and you don't need a cookbook. We give you a true Taste of Thailand. Its great in the slow cooker with braising steak also goes really well with lamb, game or chicken thighs. You can also simply cook with sweet potatoes and root vegetables.

The school gives the abandoned children a purpose in life, teaching them and training them to serve and help others in the local community and beyond.

With Paul's last trip to Thailand in March 2021 he visited some far-flung places well off the beaten track and came across The Bamboo school on the Thai - Myanmar border.

It's a children's refuge on the originally built in bamboo, now many of its buildings are made from recycled plastic. It was set up over 20 years ago by New Zealander, Catherine Riley-Bryan. It a refuge for children who have medical issues, are orphans or who have been abandoned.

The school is truly remarkable and has taken in over 600 students over the past 20 years.
During his visit, Paul decided there and then that The Coconut Kitchen would commit to sponsoring at least 2 children in this school per year and if profits allow would sponsor more.
Many of the school buildings are now made out of recycled plastic bottles! The bottles are stuffed with plastic bags and glued together in 6's to make plastic "Eco Bricks".
The children are also taught how to grow their own organic vegetables on the land and how to fish in the adjacent lake all skills they can use to help themselves and others in their future life.
