All natural, handcrafted here in far northern Minnesota (we actually DO get sun up here), good stuff to help you care for your horse's summer needs.	The Sun Protective Superpower Zinc Oxide Each of the ingredients we use has some degree of natural sun protection. There is one, yes, one ingredient that offers any true natural sun protection…good old zinc oxide. Zinc Oxide has been used for decades (or longer) in human sunscreens and infant diaper protection creams. We feel it is the safest and most effective sunscreen ingredient available that is considered natural. Zinc Oxide works with our other ingredients to amplify their sun shade properties.	Non-Nano is How Our Zinc Oxide Rolls The Zinc Oxide used in The Blissful Horse Summer Care Butter does not contain nano particles. Nano particles are defined as particles less than 100nm. The actual size of the zinc oxide used is an average of 120nn, with a range of from 108nn to 132nn. This size is ideal for sun protection formulations, as it is not so small that it is absorbed into the bloodstream, but is small enough to become transparent after application. Talking about nano particles always makes me feel so sci-fi and Science Nerdy.
