What Does The Test 6 in1 Measure This test measures 6 quality indicators: pH, Carbonate, General Hardness, Nitrite, Nitrate and Chlorine. These values need to be checked in order to know that your filter is working properly and has the useful bacteria. That your water is 'fresh', has the ideal hardness, acidity and chlorine values.	How to use the Test 6in1 Simply move test strip a few times in the water. Shake off excess liquid from the strip. Immediately compare chlorine test field with scale. Wait approximately 60 seconds and compare the other test fields with scale. And now you can even analyse water parameters by simply using your smartphone. The tetra aquatics app determines your water parameters in seconds.	Why Should The Water Be Tested Good water quality is vital for healthy fish and plants; however there is no way to visibly check this. For the wellbeing of the fish, it is recommended to test every 2-3 days in a new aquarium, and once a week in established aquariums.

The Golden Rules Of Fish Keeping

Make tapwater safe for your fish by dosing with Tetra Safe Tabs, and regularly check outflow of the aquarium's filter. Don't overstock the tank with fish, or stock with aggressive fish or species that will grow too large for the tank.

Do regularly clean the aquarium gravel with a Tetra GC gravel cleaner check outflow of the aquarium's filter. Don't stock all the fish you intend to keep in the tank in one go. Plan a phased stocking programme.

Do perform regular partial water changes. Don't overfeed the fish (feed the fish as much as they will eat in 2-3 minutes, 1-3 times a day).

Do syphon or net out uneaten fish food as soon as possible. Don't feed low quality food to help keep your fish water clear and your fish healthy.
