Dadurch, dass die Ringe breiter als die einzelnen Spulen sind, wird ein geschlossenes System gebildet, das einfach zu handhaben ist und die Vorfachschnüre vor Umwelteinflüssen und UV-Strahlung schützt. Die Cutter-Ringe sind immer wiederverwendbar. Wenn eine Vorfachspule leer ist, werden Cutter-Ring und Schnurspendering einfach abgenommen und auf eine neue, volle Spule aufgesetzt.
