Bristol pads come in two different finishes: a smooth finish ideal for mechanical drawings, air brush, solvent-based marker, or detailed pen and ink illustrations; a vellum finish ideal for mediums that need a bumpier surface, like graphite pencils, charcoal, oil pastels or sketching sticks.
