Our story

How we got our start

Hi, my name's Shawn and I'm T1D. Whenever I eat carbs or my blood sugars are high, I inject insulin. For the first few years I only injected in my easy to reach stomach and thighs. It wasn't a problem until I developed some bruising and scar tissue known as LH. Then I knew something had to change.

What makes our product unique

Steady Shot is the only attachment for pen needles that aims at making injecting insulin and rotating injection sites easier. Steady Shot is durable, re-usable and portable. Unlike many other diabetes supplies, you only have to buy one. We are not the typical profit-motivated healthcare company.

Why we love what we do

Living through diabetes first hand, I understand what it's like and want to give back to the diabetic community by making everyone's injections a little bit easier. 7.3 million Americans inject insulin and 38% have lipohypertrophy. With Steady Shot, it doesn’t have to be this way.

STEADY SHOT FOR PEN NEEDLES

Steady Shot for pen needles makes insulin injections easier for everyone. Steady Shot simply connects to your standard pen needles and holds the needle steady during your injection. When Steady Shot is pressed into the tissue, the needle is guided into the correct position for the injection. Steady Shot makes it easier to use either hand to inject and reach new sites, acts as training wheels for learning injectors, stabilizes the needle during the injection when travelling, gives a clear view of needle when injecting, and helps control needle insertion speed and depth. Steady Shot was made by a type 1 diabetic who developed lipohypertrophy from over injecting the same spot. After using Steady Shot to inject in different spots, he no longer has lipohypertrophy.

Steady Shot does not fit syringes or the following pen needles: Novo Twist (Novofine Plus, BD Nano 2nd Gen, Owen Mumford (Unifine), or safety pen needles. Refer to pen needle compatibility chart below.

5 INJECTION SITE TIPS

ARMS	Position the Steady Shot curve to match the curve of your arm. This is called a horizonal position.
ABDOMEN	Position the Steady Shot curve to match the way your fat folds when you lean forward. This is called a vertical position. Near the rib cage you may find a diagonal position that cups the ribs works best. Love handles use vertical positioning.
BACK	Position the Steady Shot curve to match the curve of your back love handles or remain vertical. Leaning back towards the injection site and twisting your body may help fat rise.
BUTTOCKS	Position the Steady Shot curve to match the curve of your buttocks in a vertical position.
THIGHS	Position the Steady Shot curve to match the curve of your thigh in a horizontal position.
