TECHNOLOGY


POWERLOCK SRAM chain engineers developed PowerLock as a tool free, sure, and consistent way to connect our chains. While PL does not require special tools for install, the especially tight tolerances of 10- and 11-speed drivetrains mandate that each PowerLock is good for a one-time application only.	EAGLE Eagle technology represents our newest 1x drivetrain technology. Eagle is a lighter, simpler, more durable, and easier to use drivetrain. Eagle features all-new 1x components, engineered for even greater durability and performance while maintaining a significant weight advantage over other drivetrain solutions. Eagle technology also provides an expanded gear range of 500%, which is equal to 2x11 drivetrains.	FLOWLINK Ultra-smooth chain inner-plates are completely devoid of square edges, resulting in a chain that engages the cassette and chain ring with far less friction, for quieter performance and better wear life. The design allows a narrower overall profile that can withstand greater angles, and also allows for a flatter outer-plate, which means more consistent chain riveting and enhanced overall strength.

EAGLE CHAIN INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS


Measure To properly size the chain on a full suspension frame, the rear shock must be compressed to the point in the travel where the rear axle is farthest from the bottom bracket.	Wrap Chain Wrap the chain around the largest rear cog and the chain ring. Full suspension bikes: add 1 inner link/1 outer link where chain starts to overlap. Hard tail bikes: add 2 inner links/2 outer links.	Remove Excess Links Use chain tool to remove excess links, leaving an inner link at both ends of the chain. Pull the lower derailleur cage forward and push the cage lock button to lock the derailleur in the extended position.	Rotate Chain Route chain through derailleur. Install PowerLock. Pull lower derailleur cage forward until cage lock button unlocks. Let cage rotate backwards. Engage read brake lever, push down on crank arm until PowerLock snaps into place.
