Spitzner Saunaaufguss Salbei-Grapefruit
Herkunft und Geschichte:
Salbei leitet sich vom lateinischen Wort „salvare“ (Deutsch: „heilen“) ab. Er ist im gesamten Mittelmeerraum beheimatet, gedeiht aber auch in unseren Breiten. Seit Jahrtausenden wird er als Universalheilmittel geschätzt. Bereits im alten Ägypten wurde er gegen Unfruchtbarkeit eingesetzt. Im 6. Jahrhundert gelangte die Pflanze mit den Benediktinermönchen über die Alpen nach Mitteleuropa. Pfarrer Kneipp nannte den Salbei ein „Lebenselixier par excellence“.
Die Grapefruit wird in fast allen subtropischen Ländern angebaut und wurde vermutlich um 1750 in Barbados als Zufallskreuzung zwischen Orange und Pampelmuse entdeckt. Der immergrüne Baum ist normalerweise etwa 5 bis 6 m hoch. Das Fruchtfleisch kann je nach Züchtung gelb, rosa oder rot sein. Um 1800 tauchten die ersten Grapefruits auf den Westindischen Inseln auf, seit ca. 1950 werden sie nach Europa eingeführt.
