The Best 5-Minute Hummus

Craving the smoothest, creamiest hummus but only have a few minutesThis quick and easy homemade hummus puts store-bought to shame when you make it with Soom Tahini!

  • 1 can (15oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 4-6 cloves garlic, peeled and roughly chopped
  • Juice from 2 lemons, about ½ cup
  • ½ tsp kosher salt + more to taste
  • 1½ cups Soom Premium Tahini or Organic Tahini
  • About ¾ cup water, plus more until desired consistency is achieved
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • To serve: olive oil, freshly chopped parsley, paprika

  1. Combine chickpeas, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and tahini In a food processor or high-powered blender. Pour in ¼ cup water at a time, blending until the mixture is super smooth, creamy, and pale, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Hummus should be somewhat thick in consistency, but feel free to add more cold water 1 tbsp at a time until desired consistency is reached. Stir in ½ tsp ground cumin. Taste and adjust as necessary.
  3. To serve, spoon hummus into a serving bowl or platter. Use a spoon to create a swoosh on top. Drizzle with olive oil, then garnish with parsley and a pinch of paprika.
  4. Leftover hummus keeps well in the refrigerator in an air-tight container for up to 5 days. When ready to eat leftover hummus, mix in 1 tbsp cold water and a sprinkle of salt.

blueberry bars

Tahini Blueberry Pie Bars

  • 2 cups oat flour, or all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • Sea salt + cinnamon to taste
  • ½ cup Soom Premium Tahini
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 16 ounces frozen blueberries
  • 1 Tbsp tapioca starch, or corn starch
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  1. Set oven to 350 F. Line a 9x9 square pan with parchment paper and cooking spray.
  2. First, make the base layer. Mix together oat flour, rolled oats, sea salt, cinnamon, tahini, maple and brown sugar until a dough forms. Reserve 1 cup of the crumble for topping and set aside. Press the remaining into the baking dish and spread out evenly using your hands or the back of a frosting spatula. Bake for 15 minutes.
  3. While the crust bakes, prep the blueberry filling. Add blueberries, starch, and lemon juice, and vanilla extract to a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a slight boil, then reduce heat to low and cook for about 5 minutes. Continue stirring until it thickens. Lightly mash some of the blueberries with a potato masher or spatula. Remove from heat when done.
  4. Pour blueberry filling on top of the base once it's done baking and spread evenly with a spoon. Top with the remaining crumble and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes. Allow bars to cool for 10 minutes then transfer to the fridge to continue cooling for 30 minutes. Bars must be completely cooled before slicing! Slice into 12 squares and enjoy with vanilla ice cream

Maple Tahini Granola

Maple Tahini Granola

Before making this Maple Tahini Granola, we’d always opt for store-bought granola. But not anymore — this Maple Tahini Granola from The Tahini Table Cookbook might be the best granola we’ve ever had. Pro-tip: don’t try speeding up the baking process. Reprinted with permission from The Tahini Table by Amy Zitelman, Agate Publishing, November 2020.

  • 2 cups old-fashioned oatmeal
  • ½ cup sliced almonds
  • ½ cup walnut pieces
  • ½ cup white sesame seeds
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • Large pinch fine sea salt
  • 6 Tbsp pure maple syrup
  • ¼ cup Soom Premium Tahini
  • 2 Tbsp coconut or nut oil
  • ½ cup chopped dried apples, apricots, or raisins

  1. Turn the oven to 250ºF. Mix the oatmeal, almonds, walnuts, sesame seeds, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl. Mix the maple syrup, tahini, and oil in a small bowl, then pour over the oat mixture. Toss until everything is well coated.
  2. Scrape onto a rimmed sheet pan with a silicone spatula. Pack into an even layer. Bake until the granola is golden, about 40 minutes, flipping and flattening with the spatula halfway through.
  3. Set aside to cool. Break the granola into chunks and toss with the dried fruit.
  4. Store in a tightly closed container at room temperature for up to 3 weeks.
