Continuous high-speed shooting up to 11fps4 is available for your legacy with SSM (Super Sonic wave Motor) and SAM (Smooth Autofocus Motor) A-mount lenses with autofocus2 and auto-exposure tracking3.
Durable design

The LA-EA5 features a robust six screw flange as found on newer E-mount cameras providing ridged and secure connection between camera and lens, especially useful when using larger and heavier lenses.

A compact lens adapter with an elegant, cylindrical form factor that lets A-mount-lens users take advantage of the outstanding AF performance provided by the latest E-mount camera bodies.

1 As of September 2020. Latest firmware is required. Focal plane phase-detection is supported for SSM/SAM lenses on a7 III, a7R III, a7R IV, a6100, a6400, a6600, a9, a9 II, and a7S III. Focal plane phase-detection is only supported for lenses that do not have internal focus motors on the a7R IV with firmware V1.20 or later, and the a6600 with firmware V1.10 or later as of September 2020. For details on functional compatibility, please visit our support site.

2 Autofocus is not available during movie recording. A-mount teleconverters are not supported. SEL135F28STF lens is manual focus only.

3 For AE tracking, the aperture is fixed for the first frame while shutter speed and ISO are used for exposure adjustment.
