Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate - Artekas Innovation

BATHING PLEASURE - FIRM FOAM

is a mild and gentle solid surfactant derived from coconut oil, in the form of powder. It is used in combination with Sodium Coco Sulfate (SCS) to formulate solid shampoos that are soft and well tolerated by the scalp and hair, while providing a rich and creamy lather. It also makes it possible to prepare shower bars.
It has been in use for a number of years but more recently has become well known due to the increasing popularity of solid shampoo bars also known as Syndet Shampoo Bars.
As SCI Solid Surfactant has limited solubility in water it may recrystallise if used in a liquid shampoo.
SCI Solid Surfactant performs well in hard water areas. It has a minimum of 82% active ingredient and a pH of 6 so formulae do not usually need pH adjusting. - SCI is gentle and totally Sulfate-free.

Manufacturing Process:

Heat up phase A to 85°C/185°F
Mix phase B until homogeneous.
Add phase C to B while stirring.
Add phase D one by one to phase B+C
Add phase B/C/D to phase A and heat up to 85°C/185°F
Homogenize at 85°C/185°F
Fill in silicone mold and cool down to RT.

Solid Shampoo is made of an alternative surfactant combination: SCI Powder & COCO GLUCOSIDE, a mild surfactant, carbon neutral which improves foaming and skin compatibility. In addition, a good ingredients balance is required to formulate solid shampoo, between stability in the pack & in the bathroom and the deposition ability. CETEARYL ALCOHOL contributes to the consistency and deposition while HYDROGENATED VEGETABLE OIL provides the hardness and temperature stability.
