SIIG 4K HDMI HDCP 2.2 to HDCP 1.4 Converter (CE-H24L11-S1)

HDCP is an industry-adopted specification to protect high-value entertainment media on video interfaces. It is an encryption that does not allow the video systems not conform to the specification to play the encrypted content.

There are two types of HDCP specifications, HDCP 1.4 and HDCP 2.2 which are not compatible with each other. Digital TVs with HDCP only 1.4 specifications cannot play digital video contents encrypted by HDCP 2.2 specification. Today, streaming services like Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and others all offer Ultra High Definition (UHD) 4K videos which primarily meet HDCP 2.2 specifications.
