Textured Pea Protein Flakes, ideal vegan meat substitute for plant-based meals

Our dried Textured Pea Protein Flakes are made from 100% yellow peas grown and harvested in Canada. They are minimally processed, the peas are formed into textured flakes (3-5mm). Our concentrated granules are high in Protein (72%) and Fibre, and are gluten and soy free.

Preparation: our mildly-flavoured, unseasoned granules need to be re-hydrated to achieve a soft, meat-like consistency of pulled / shredded meat. We recommend soaking in hot vegetable stock for 10-15 mins before cooking.

Pea Protein Hoisin and Honey Stir Fry: Ingredients

  • 6 tbsp Sevenhills Wholefoods Pea Protein Flakes
  • For the sauce: 40g soy sauce, 40g hoisin sauce, 10g honey, 3tsp oyster sauce
  • For the stir fry: 100g sugar snap peas, 3 Mushrooms, 1 shallot, 6 tenderstem broccoli, 250g beansprouts, 1 pepper, ground nut oil
  • For the garnish: pink ginger, 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 2 Medium egg noodle nests

Pea Protein Hoisin and Honey Stir Fry: Method

  1. To make the stir fry sauce, place 40g soy sauce, 40g hoisin sauce, 10g honey and 3tsp oyster sauce in a bowl.
  2. Combine until all mixed together.
  3. Finely chop 1 pepper, 1 shallot, mushrooms, and add to a wok with ground nut oil on high heat and cook for 3 minutes.
  4. Boil a pan of water, add the noodles for 3 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  5. Add broccoli, beansprouts and sugar snap peas to the wok.
  6. Add the sauce to the wok and stir in, and continue stirring the stir fry to avoid burning.
  7. Soak your Pea Protein flakes in 100ml of boiling water for 2-3 minutes, drain and then add into the wok with the noodles.
  8. Continue cooking all the ingredients in the wok for a further 5 minutes until piping hot.
  9. Once cooked, serve on a plate or bowl and sprinkle with sesame seeds and pink ginger.
