A Note on Oats
Oats are the foundation of most of our mueslis and we love them because they are naturally gluten free, high in protein, and loaded with important vitamins, minerals and antioxidant plant compounds. When left in their natural state (instead of baked and extruded like most cereals), they are a nutritional powerhouse and also have a soft, chewy texture and subtly sweet taste.
The non-profit Environmental Working Group (EWG) recently found glyphosate residues in dozens of oat-based products. We have been working closely within our out supply chain for the last few years to address this issue and ensure that the use of glyphosate as a pre-harvest desiccant was prohibited. We test our products for glyphosate residues annually, and in the latest results from December 2019, glyphosate was not detected.
