Instruction To Use

Step 1: WRAP CUFF AROUND UPPER LEFT ARM

- Put the cuff on your left arm 2-3 cm (~1 inch) above your elbow.

- Wrap the cuff around the upper left arm and check the tightness of the cuff by putting two fingertips underneath.

Step 2: PLACE STETHOSCOPE ON LEFT ARM

- With the stethoscope on, place your head over the brachial artery, over the elbow joint, facing the body where the artery normally runs.

Step 3: INFLATE & DEFLATE CUFF

- Quickly fill the cuff with air until a typical upper pressure reading is reached and increase by 30 mmHg. Then, stop taking in air. Begin to let air out of the cuff so that the arrow of the manometer goes down 2-3 marks per second.

Step 4: TAKE MEASUREMENTS

- Note the stress of hearing your heartbeat for the first time. This is the upper or systolic number. Note the pressure when the sound stops. Then note the readings on the pressure gauge when the sound of your heart throbbing disappears.
