Our founder, Dr William Mathias Scholl, was seeking to understand the structure and biomechanics of the foot, as well as its relationship with the body - his passion and values are still among us today.

In 1899, the story started in Chicago, when the young 17 year old William, began working in a small shop specialising in comfortable shoes. He was so intrigued by the number of people with foot pain that he entered in the medical school to obtain knowledge about the human body, especially on the anatomy and physiology of the feet.

In 1904, at 22 years and shortly after his graduation in medicine, he patented his first invention, the foot-eazer. A revolutionary product for the period: a half insole to insert into the shoe to strengthen and support the arch. It then founded Scholl Manufacturing Co. Inc. in 1907.

Easy to use thanks to their ergonomic shape. Very resistant, they are ideal for hard and thick toenails. Profiled for a clean and precise cut.
