FAQs
When should I begin using ScarAway
You may begin using ScarAway as soon as the skin is healed and there is no oozing or crusting in the area. Treatment with ScarAway for post-surgical scars may typically begin approximately 1-2 weeks after stitches are removed or when cleared by your physician or surgeon for use. For existing scars, you may begin using ScarAway right away, provided your skin is fully healed.
What types of scars does ScarAway work on
ScarAway works to diminish the appearance of hypertrophic scars and keloids, which have a raised and/or discolored appearance. These types of scars may result from surgery, injury, burns, acne, cuts, insect bites, and others.
Can I use ScarAway on any part of my body
When used as directed, ScarAway Scar Diminishing Gel can be used on any part of the body, avoiding mucous membranes, open wounds, and direct contact with eyes. It is even ideal for exposed or hard-to-treat areas such as face, ears, neck, scalp, arms, hands, and joint areas. Once dry, ScarAway can also be worn under makeup.
Can ScarAway completely remove a scar
It is not possible to make a scar 'invisible'. ScarAway may, however, markedly improve the appearance of scars – old and new.
How long should I use ScarAway
Treatment duration will vary from person to person and from scar to scar, depending on many factors. Recommended minimum treatment time is 60-90 days. Larger and older scars may take longer, therefore continued use is recommended if improvement is still seen after the initial 90 days. Individual results will vary.
Can I use ScarAway Scar Diminishing Gel with ScarAway Silicone Scar Sheets
Yes. ScarAway Scar Diminishing Gel may be used as part of your complete scar treatment regimen. Simply apply ScarAway Gel as directed when not wearing your ScarAway Silicone Sheet.
