The Sans Digital USB 3.0/eSATA with built-in hardware RAID towers are available in 2-bay, 4-bay, 5-bay, and 8-bay hard drive towers. The built-in hardware RAID-5 controller utilizes a high performance USB 3.0 and eSATA interfaces to provide up to 200MB/s in performance. The USB 3.0 port is backwards compatible with widely available USB 2.0 ports, which is a convenient feature when both USB 3.0 and eSATA connections are unavailable. Built-in RAID functionality provides hardware RAID redundancy protection against hard drive failures. The RAID engine is embedded within the enclosure and performs all RAID parity calculation to reduce CPU utilization from the host PC. RAID controller cards are not necessary since RAID is handle within the tower allowing for better flexibility.

Sans Digital 12G SAS SFF-8644 & eSATA Port-Multiplying Towers

The Sans Digital TowerRAID 12G SAS towers are available in 4-bay and 8-bay towers. The SFF-8644 connection provides the highest performance rates with a bandwidth of up to 3,000 MB/s when used with a high performance 12G SAS RAID controller card with high performance drives. The 12G SAS ports combine hard drives into 1x (TR4X12G) or 2x (TR8X12G) SFF-8644 interface(s). The TowerRAID 12G SAS Enclosures could effortlessly support multi-streaming of compressed high-quality playback or a single-stream of uncompressed high definition video under various RAID modes.

For a cost effective expansion, we also offer the 4-bay, 5-bay, and 8-bay eSATA (PM) tower enclosures. This compact JBOD tower utilizes SATA 6G port multiplier technology, where a single eSATA cable connects to 4x SATA hard drives (TR4M6GNC, TR4M+BNC) or 5x SATA hard drives (TR5M6GNC, TR5M+BNC) or 2x eSATA cables connects to 8x SATA hard drives.
