Rosewood Skin Care is inspired by Dr. Rose Hirschler & Dr. Margaret Wood.

In 1850, the Women's Medical College of Pennsylvania (WMCP) opened in Philadelphia. Dr. Rose Hirschler became the first female dermatologist to graduate. She also became the first woman on the American Board of Dermatology. The Rose Hirschler Award is named in her honor. The award is presented annually to female physicians chosen for their significant contributions to medicine and dermatology.

Dr. Margaret Wood is also graduate of WMCP. Among her many contributions, she was the first dermatologist to use the electron microscope as a diagnostic tool. She authored over 70 publications and was a founding member of the WMPCs board of directors. She won the Rose Hirschler Award in 1990. All three of her daughters went on to earn medical degrees at WMCP.

Both woman made important contributions to dermatology and to the advancement of women in the field. We honor their achievements and all the female physicians like them.
