RiceSelect Traditional Orzo

RiceSelect Traditional Orzo is made with 100% enriched durum semolina wheat. Convenient and versatile, it is the perfect pantry staple for delicious and satisfying meals that can be made at a moment’s notice.

Great in Mediterranean-style salads, stirred into soups or tossed with grilled vegetables for a fast and fabulous side dish. RiceSelect Traditional Orzo is Star-K Kosher Certified.

Cooking Orzo


Step 1 Add salt to water if desired; bring water to a rapid boil. Gradually add orzo. Stir gently and return to a boil.	Step 2 Cook uncovered for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.	Step 3 Yields approximately 2 ½ cups cooked orzo.

Orzo with Cranberries and Sausage

Preparation

- Spray a large skillet with non-stick cooking spray; heat to medium.

- Add sausage and onion and cook, stirring frequently, until browned, about 5 to 8 minutes.

- Remove sausage from skillet and chop into ¼ inch pieces. Return sausage to skillet with onion.

- Stir in orzo, chicken broth, orange juice, cranberries, and sage; bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat and simmer (covered), until most of the liquid is absorbed, about 15 minutes.

- Remove from heat and let stand covered for 10 minutes. Toss and serve.

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 25 minutes

1 1/2 cups, uncooked Traditional Orzo
Nonstick cooking spray
1/2 lb mild sausage links
1 small onion, chopped
2 1/2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 teaspoon dried sage
