Rapunzel bioSnacky Seeds for Sprouting - Grow at home

Grow your own sprouts at home

From seed to sprout in only a few days, it's easy to grow your own sprouts in jars and trays such as the bioSnacky glass germinator or 3 tier germinator, at home (or even in the office) in a sunny, bright place near a window. Avoid direct sunlight.

Superfood you can grow yourself!

Seeds are a storehouse of energy and nutrients, containing everything that is needed for the early stages of a plant’s growth. When a seed starts to sprout, nutrients (vitamins, minerals, and enzymes) contained in it become available in a living form.

Growing sprouts is one of the easiest ways to get important vitamins, minerals, trace elements, secondary phytochemicals, and dietary fibers into your diet, all year round.

How to enjoy your delicious and nutritious sprouts:

  • Place in a bowl on their own or with a dressing of your choice. Makes an ideal side dish.
  • Sprinkle on top of or mix into a salad.
  • Add to sandwich fillings or burgers.
  • Add to a stir fry just before serving. It is best not to cook sprouts as they lose nutrients if heated.
  • Sprinkle on top of soups or stews before serving.

Fibrous roots, not mould!

You may see little fibres on the sprouts. Don't worry this is perfectly normal. Fibrous roots are small roots. They develop after 2-3 days and will continue to evolve into genuine roots. Their furry appearance resembles cotton wool and is often mistaken for mould, but mould has a musty smell. All seeds may develop fibrous roots during their growth phase, especially mustard, radish and alfalfa seeds.

My seeds won't germinate - why?

A few reasons to consider: There are too many seeds in the jar/tray, the seeds have not been rinsed thoroughly or been rinsed too much, and the ambient germination temperature is either too low or too high - please observe package instructions.

Which other circumstances may prevent germination?

Some unfavourable conditions such as too much or too little water and adverse lighting conditions etc. may result in mould formation. Moul

HOW TO SPROUT: Soak seeds before germination. Use 1 tbsp seeds per tray or glass germinator. Soak for 4 hours. Rinse twice a day. Ideal germination temperature is 18-22°C. The sprouts are ready to eat after 6-8 days. Rinse thoroughly in fresh water before consumption. ORGANICALLY CERTIFIED: The Alfalfa seeds are organically produced and certified by Organic Certifying Body DE-OKO-006. They are also suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans. EASY SOURCE OF VITAMINS: Growing sprouts is one of the easiest ways of getting important vitamins, minerals, trace elements, secondary phytochemicals and dietary fibres all year round – freshly harvested from your windowsill!. RICH IN PROTEIN: Considered one of the most nutritionally concentrated sprouts, alfalfa seeds contain high levels of protein (4g per 100g), as well as minerals. POPULAR SPROUTING SEEDS: Alfalfa sprouts have a slightly nutty taste and are the ideal topping for salads, smoothies, summer rolls and dips.
