How did we get our start

Culver City. 1979. At three years old I saw my parents, filled with nostalgia for their childhood home in India, open a International Grocery Store, the first one of its kind in a small suburb of Los Angeles. I grew up in that shop.

How do I use Green CardamomOur favorite recipe is Cardamom Milk Coffee

In most recipes, just a few pods are required. Its typically used to infuse flavor into the dish its going into rather being consumed whole.

How to Make it:

Step 1 : Simmer cardamom pods and milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 2: Heat 2/3 cup water almost to boiling. Put ground coffee in a drip cone set on a large mug. Pour water over grounds.
Step 3: Strain milk into coffee. Stir in sugar if you like.

Ingredients Needed:
3/4 cup low-fat milk
3 tablespoons finely ground coffee & Sugar (If desired)
1-2 Rani cardamom pod, crush a bit to release flavor

Why is Rani Better We buy bigger pods. Grade-A Extra Fancy JUMBO GRADE, its the best out there. That means you get more seeds, more seeds more flavor. Is greener betterNot necessarily, since picking them prior to full maturity is ideal, getting them too green means they might be a bit too ripe. Slightly off green is best.	Small Green Cardamom Inferior quality, Small pod, less seeds. Probably picked a little too early not allowing them to reach 3/4 maturity for optimal flavor.	Medium Green Cardamom Good quality, larger pod, more seeds.	Jumbo (Rani) Green Cardamom Rani Premium quality, largest pod, most amount of seeds.
