Silver nitrate etching sticks are proven to remove excessive tissue growths that can occur in healing skin wounds, e.g. surgical cavities with granulation polyps. They are suitable for use in wound management, stoma care and aphthous stomatitis. They are used for blood stasis for minor bleeding such as Epistaxis (nasal bleeding) or after biopsies, or if the use of electrocauterization was too complicated and painful. Application: In advance, the etching stick head is moistened with water. The aim is to bring the liquid enriched with silver nitrate into the area of application. At the desired place, the stick is rolled evenly several times, no pressure should be applied. The treated area discolours and is then repelled from the surrounding tissue for a few days.Use for newborn – Umbilical cord residues in newborns can be easily removed with etching sticks, an application should be carried out by doctor or midwives. Easy and painless: the application is quick and easy and usually completely painless. Areas of use: the removal of warts and the use in podiatry (e.g. for corns) are common areas of use. Blood activator for smaller bleeding – they are used for bleeding in small bleeding such as epistaxis (nosebleeds) or after biopsia. Application – The sticks are suitable for use in wound management, stoma care and pharmaceous stomatitis. It may take up to 24 hours for discolouration.
