A Quarter Cup of Florida Sun Kefir Are authentic virgin and unadulterated water kefir grains that are derived and extracted from the mature Opuntia ficus-indica and Opuntia joconostle (prickly pear) cactus plants. These LIVE HARD nodules are NOT DEHYDRATED and have been preserved from their mature cactus paddles, protected by the thick thorn-like flowering cactus spines. Virgin & Unadulterated means they are directly from natures source (with NO additives) and have never been brewed. They are in a LIVE HARD nodule state as removed and preserved from the prickly pear cactus paddles, that can be stored indefinitely before the first time use (NOT DEHYDRATED). Florida Sun Kefir grains will create a lacto-fermented beverage from using basically sugar & water (with a small amount of molasses for nutrients), fruit juice, or coconut water and is very easy to use. Almost IMMEDIATELY when placed in a brewing recipe (as described) these live hard nodules will become soft and pliable for the rest of their lifetime and can create a new brewing of kefir water every few days.
