HOW TO APPLY IMITATION GOLD LEAF SHEETS


Apply The Adhesive Make the surface clean, dry and dust free. Apply a thin layer of gold leaf adhesive evenly on the surface where you'll apply the gold leaf. Let adhesive dry to become tacky. Do not apply the gold leaf while adhesive is too wet.	Lay The Gold Leaf Sheets Lay the gold leaf on the adhesive in a draft-free space as the gold leaf is very thin & lightweight and the slight air can make it fly. Gently tap down the gold leaf using a soft brush and leave the artwork again to become dry.	Brush Away Excess Leaf Use a small & stiff brush to remove the excess gold leaf. Work softly to ensure the surface of the gold leaf may not get scratched. Pieces of the leaf that are left over can be reused to fill gaps – so don't let them throw away.	Apply The Sealer Burnish the gold leaf using a soft rag to get a smoother finish. This will also increase the shine on the surface. Lastly, apply an oil-based sealer to provide a protective coat that will prevent the gold leaf from becoming tarnished.

Noteworthy: Gold leaves are fragile & easily breakable. If sealed with an oil-based sealer, they won't oxidize & fade away. They are not edible due to the high concentration of copper. Please do not use them for baking or wrapping food items.
