Split Yellow Mung Lentils is native to India but has also been cultivated in southeast Asia and China.

These nutritious lentils are naturally cultivated in the humid and temperate areas of India using the best farming practices.

How to cook:

Use 3 Cups water per 1 Cup dry lentil. Add 1-2 tsp oil, if desired. For making lentil soup increase the amount of water. For making lentil salad reduce the amount of water.

Stovetop:

  1. Soak lentils for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Rinse thoroughly and drain water.
  3. Add 3 cups of water per 1 cup of dry lentils in a wide pot and heat on low uncovered.
  4. Once the water is at the level of the lentils, cover the pot.
  5. Allow to sit for 10-15 minutes. Serve hot or cold.

Electric Cooker/Microwave:

  1. Prep lentils same as above
  2. Use 3 cups water per 1 cup of lentils and add to a safe microwave safe dish or electric cooker.
  3. Heat for 15-20 minutes on medium heat covered. Serve hot or cold.
