If you want to add some flavor to your plain rice, here is how you can do it -

Rinse the rice, drain the water and set it aside. Heat 1 tablespoon ghee in a pan or wok and add 1 whole bayleaf, 1-inch cinnamon bark, 4-5 cloves to it. Once the cumin seeds start spluttering, add the drained rice to it. Sauté the rice for two minutes on a medium flame. Add two cups of water and salt to the rice and mix well. Bring to a quick boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer.

Cover and cook for approximately 5 - 6 minutes, till all the water has evaporated and the rice is cooked through. Top with chopped cilantro and serve hot with your favourite curry!
