The studies done with DLPC (dilinoleoylphosphatidylcholine) - we know, it's a tongue breaker - span almost 50 decades. They were done mainly in Germany, Italy and Russia and showed how it can balance out the blood lipids, improve blood flow capabilities and liver function.

There is also an intravenous treatment that was developed in Germany to dissolve fatty masses obstructing blood flow after implanting rods into the bone marrow to fix fractured leg bones. Biorica International Health Corp is a small family business, and when our mother developed angina (chest pains) because of plaque in her coronary arteries she had a balloon angioplasty done to improve blood flow. Unfortunately, as it happens with many patients, the blood vessels started to close up again after only 6 weeks. She had another ballon angioplasty done, and again after 6 weeks her chest pains returned. We discovered this old German treatment and figured, that if it can dissolve fats blocking blood vessel, it may also dissolve plaque occluding the blood vessels. Well, it worked like a miracle. She never needed another angioplasty and never again had chest pains.
In the past 22 years thousands of patients had the Plaquex intravenous treatment and they take the Oral version to prevent reoccurence of the problem. Others take it to improve liver function after it has been damaged by pharmaceuticals, environmental toxins or alcohol. Many take it just to optimize the function of their cells and give them a rejuvenating treatment.

Plaquex contains 900 mg of DLPC from non GMO soy per softgel. The recommended dose is 2 -3 softgels daily.

The first graph shows an investigation on Rhesus monkeys after a 10-year period of high cholesterol diet and a 7 week period of DLPC application.
Assessment of serum total cholesterol (Pink), LDL (Purple), HDL (Green) and Triglycerides (Yellow) at baseline, 7 weeks after start of DLPC and *16 weeks after completion of DLPC.  Total cholesterol was reduced by 23%, LDL by 36%, Triglycerides by 34% and HDL increased by 10%. 
The amount of cholesterol reduction was dependent on the dosage, the initial level of cholesterol and the mode of administration. Studies found that LDL that was only slightly high was also reduced only slightly while very high LDL levels were reduced by a higher degree. 


The second graph shows the HDL levels while taking DLPC for 6 weeks and then stopping it (pink line) and the control group (purple line). HDL increases during the 6 week treatment time, but slowly reverts back down after stopping DLPC. This means continuous supplementation with DLPC is necessary to maintain desired levels. 
Other studies observed the following:

• H. Iszumi observed an increase in HDL cholesterol from 13.4 – 20 % in diabetic patients with 12 months treatment with
  1.5 g EPL daily (oral).
• Other authors found an increase between 10 and 45 % with various initial values. Very low initial values were raised while high initial values were hardly influenced.

The graph on the left shows what happens when DLPC is taken intravenously and orally for 2 months, then stopped for 2 months and then resumed for 2 months orally only. 
Cholesterol  and triglyceride levels drop, then start to rise again after treatment is stopped and then drop again when DLPC is resumed. 

In addition to influencing cholesterol levels, DLPC also prevents lipid peroxidation by increasing the bodys' own most powerful antioxidant, glutathione. This protects the walls of arteries from oxidation damage. It also makes the membranes of red blood cells more resistant to oxidation.
 

DLPC is built into the membranes of red blood cells and makes the red blood cells more pliable. As the red blood cells are larger than the smallest capillaries, they need to bend to pass through. If the DLPC in the membranes are damaged, old or lacking, the cells become rigid. Supplementing with DLPC makes the red blood cells pliable and they can bend and conform more easily to pass through these small capillaries. 

Platelets are vital for blood clotting. However in people with plaque that are obstructing blood vessels, platelets contribute to plaque build up by clumping together.The addition of DLPC in the membranes of platelets reduces the clumping effect when it's inappropriate for them to clump together such as in plaque formation. 

Liver Function is greatly improved when patients with liver problems take DLPC. In Germany it's a standard treatment in patients with liver disease.

All cell membranes are made out of a double layer of DLPC that gives the cells stability and fluidity. Embedded in this double layer are various proteins that serve as receptors for sugars, insulin, hormones and many more substances, but also channels that selectively allow substances to pass inside the cell and outside the cell as well as ion pumps that maintain a negative charge inside the cell. When these layers of DLPC are damaged, the embedded proteins and pumps malfunction and this leads to damage, even death of the cell. By supplementing with fresh DLPC we can regenerate cell membranes and therefore promote optimal cellular health.
