PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Pepto Bismol Caplets. Same relief, unflavored caplets. Pepto-Bismol has got you covered. FROM THE MANUFACTURER Pepto-Bismol caplets are easy to swallow and convenient for travel. Like all forms of Pepto-Bismol, the caplets work by creating a protective coating action that provides soothing relief for upset stomach, indigestion, nausea, heartburn, and diarrhea. Label Information Ingredients Active Ingredient: Bismuth Subsalicylate (262 mg, 99 mg of salicylate per caplet). Inactive Ingredients: Calcium Carbonate, Magnesium Stearate, Mannitol, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Polysorbate 80, Povidone, Red 27 Aluminum Lake, Silicon Dioxide, Sodium Starch Glycolate. Directions Adults and children age 12 and over: 2 caplets. Children: 9 to11 years, 1 caplet 6 to 9 years, 2/3 caplet 3 to 6 years, 1/3 caplet under 3, ask a doctor. Swallow caplets with water do not chew. Repeat every 1/2 to 1 hour as needed. Do not consume more than 8 doses in 24 hours. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor. To help prevent dehydration which may accompany diarrhea, drink plenty of clear fluids. Warnings Do not use for children and teenagers who have or are recovering from chicken pox or flu. If nausea or vomiting occurs, ask a doctor because this could be an early sign of Reye Syndrome, rare but serious illness. This product contains salicylates (but does not contain aspirin). Do not use if you are allergic to salicylates, including aspirin. If you consume 3 or more alcoholic drinks a day, ask whether you should take salicylates, including Pepto-Bismol. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are taking medications for anticoagulation (thinning the blood), diabetes, or gout. Stop use and ask a doctor: if ringing in the ears occurs when taken with other salicylates, such as aspirin when diarrhea occurs with a fever or lasts more than 2 days when other symptoms last more than 2 weeks. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away. Pepto-Bismol may cause a temporary and harmless darkening of the tongue or stool. Avoid excessive heat (over 104 degrees Fahrenheit, 40 degrees Celsius).
