Our story

How we got our start

pedag was founded by Hartmut Schelchen, who established his reputation by making high quality insoles, orhtotics, shoe care products and shoe trees. In 1975, the company's original brand name HS Schuhbedarf was changed to pedag Intl. "pedag" is derived from the Latin word pedes, meaning foot.

What makes our product unique

pedag products are hand made in Germany from natural materials, such as cotton, bamboo, leather, cork, silver ion, wool and shearling. During a rigorous quality hand making process only water-based skin friendly adhesives are used. Leathers are vegetable tanned and no solvents are applied.

Stop Odor has extra density cushioning in the area heel and sensitive forefoot. Printed guidelines makes it easy to trim to fit your shoe. Helps too loose shoes fit better too. Closed shoes, often made of materials that do not breathe, trap moisture which creates a perfect climate for odor producing bacteria to flourish.
