Our story

How we got our start

pedag was founded by Hartmut Schelchen, who established his reputation by making high quality insoles, orhtotics, shoe care products and shoe trees. In 1975, the company's original brand name HS Schuhbedarf was changed to pedag Intl. "pedag" is derived from the Latin word pedes, meaning foot.

What makes our product unique

pedag products are hand made in Germany from natural materials, such as cotton, bamboo, leather, cork, silver ion, wool and shearling. During a rigorous quality hand making process only water-based skin friendly adhesives are used. Leathers are vegetable tanned and no solvents are applied.

pedag Girl forefoot inserts are designed specifically to support your feet while you wear fun, revealing sandals, toeless shoes and fashionable high heels. They are thin enough to fit into the snuggest peep-toe slingbacks you can find while keeping your feet from sliding forward. They are ideal for barefoot wear, though they work with stockings, as well.

Self adhesive textured surface pads for extra hold

pedag GIRL anti slip forefoot grips have a self-adhesive dot that sticks the pad to the front of your shoe's insole, so it stays in place as you walk and as you take your shoes on and off, and also helps resist dislodging due to sweat. The textured surface and natural leather of the self adhesive pads help provide extra hold to keep your foot from sliding around inside the sandal or shoe as you go about your day.

Girl forefoot pads are One Size Fits All, and can be used in shoes ranging from from US W5/6 through US W11/12 (EU 35/36 - EU 41/42). They are available in tan, black, and white and can be purchased as a single pair or three pairs.

Designed specifically for the ball of your foot

Designed specifically for the ball of your foot, these self adhesive half-inserts can also be paired with an arch support insert, if that works for your particular shoe style. Insole pads come as a pair clearly marked as for the left or right shoe. Make sure to insert them correctly into your pumps or mules in order to reduce them being seen.
