WHAT IS COCONUT OIL
Coconut oil is a vegetable fat found in coconut pulp. The modern technique for extracting the oil involves drying the pulp, before cold pressing it to release the oil.
TASTE & TEXTURE
Our coconut oil comes from organic farming. It has a delicate tropical fragrance, and is a liquid above 23°C. At colder temperatures, it becomes solid, taking on a white colouring and a consistency similar to butter.
STORAGE
Coconut oil can be stored just like any other oil in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and heat. If you prefer to use your coconut oil in a solid form, even during the summer, you can store it in the fridge. Just make sure you take the desired amount of oil with a clean and dry spoon. To return coconut oil to a liquid form, simply hold it in your hands for a few seconds or heat the desired quantity in a glass bowl over a bain-marie.
COCONUT OIL RECIPES
Coconut oil is perfect for cooking with, and can be used, for example:
- to flavour various coffee drinks,
- herbal and leaf teas,
- milkshakes,
- fruit juices and smoothies,
- vegetable yogurts and drinks,
- homemade desserts and biscuits,
- vegetable dishes or salads,
- numerous other sweet and savoury dishes.
COCONUT OIL ON THE SKIN AND HAIR
Coconut oil is a versatile food, but like all natural vegetable oils it can also be used on the body and hair. Coconut oil for hair, as a pre-shampoo or as a gentle conditioner, also for curly hair.
Coconut oil can be used on the skin of the body and face, as a cleanser and moisturizer, it helps keep the skin elastic and helps prevent the formation of stretch marks, it is also capable of removing make-up from even the most stubborn make-up.
