Dianne Cortese, PT, DPT, is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with decades of experience working with shoulder injuries.

Dianne noticed after post-surgical patients could remove their slings, they experienced pain due to how gravity pulls on the arm, straining the shoulder joint.

She noticed a similar effect in baseball players, post-performance, when the rotator cuff was too fatigued to do its job: stabilizing the shoulder joint.

Her answer was the PRO Shoulder Support - carefully designed to cradle the shoulder joint of athletes, post-surgical patients, and anyone with a sore or fatigued shoulder.

When you should use the PRO Shoulder Support


Post-surgery Once you're out of the sling, the PRO Shoulder Support will help you rehab, rest and recover. Use it to increase joint stability during prescribed exercises, for pain relief, between sessions, and to assist muscle recovery when your shoulder needs to rest and destress.	Injured shoulder or arthritis While you're recovering from shoulder strain, fracture or dislocation, or you have shoulder arthritis, the PRO Shoulder Support can offer relief without medication. Use it while you drive, work on the computer, and perform other daily activities; or simply apply it while you sit or sleep.	Athletics - post performance People who play baseball, softball, tennis, volleyball, swimming, football (quarterbacks) and other overhead sports should use the PRO Shoulder Support after every athletic performance to help stabilize their fatigued shoulder and speed recovery of the rotator cuff. How does the PRO Shoulder Support work?

By positioning the arm away from the body, it allows greater blood flow to the rotator cuff muscles

After surgery, injury or athletic performance, some people experience pain due to gravity pulling on the arm since the fatigued or injured muscles can't properly stabilize the shoulder.

By cradling the shoulder joint in a healthy position, the PRO Shoulder Support counteracts the weight of the arm, helping decrease pain and soreness.

*The PRO Shoulder Support helps maintain a comfortable shoulder position while resting on your side or back. Ensure the strap is not too tight if wearing to sleep. If you experience tingling or numbness in the arm, change position or adjust the strap.

How to use the PRO Shoulder Support


Slide the PRO Shoulder Support over your wrist and position it in your underarm/axilla. Do not use while resting if under the influence of alcohol, sleep medication, or lack feeling in your arm.	Adjust the strap to a snug fit. If you experience any discomfort, tingling or numbness, you may be applying it too tightly. Reposition or adjust, as needed.	Allow your arm to rest completely. Continue wearing for 20-30 minutes or greater, depending on comfort and need.
