What is the difference between a Nite-Nite wrist support and other wrist braces?

The Nite-Nite Wrist Support is intended to be worn at night when other braces you may commonly see are worn during the day. As such, the Nite-Nite Wrist Support needs to be effective at keeping the palm and wrist stabilized using a metal stay to help maintain a neutral position, yet comfortable enough to keep you asleep.

Why is it important for the wrists to maintain a neutral resting position?

While not intentional, our wrists and hands are more likely to bend while sleeping. Bent wrists while sleeping can compress the nerves and put pressure on the joints, which may cause irritation and aggravation, often leading to numbness, tingling and/or pain. Doctors, occupational therapists, and physical therapists will often suggest a resting hand splint to hold the wrist joint in a neutral position. We refer to the Nite-Nite Wrist Support as being pillowy soft because as you lay your head on the pillow, you should feel the same sense of relaxation resting your palm and wrist on the pillow built into our Nite-Nite Wrist Support. The moveable pillow can be adjusted to fill the contours of your palm, cradling it to offer rest and relaxation. Additionally, 13mm of padded comfort surrounds most of the brace with an additional 9mm thick padded pocket to fully encase the removable metal stay for extra protection.
