Our Pina Colada SPF 15 Lip Balm is the same very well-rated formula as our Coconut SPF 15 Natural Lip Balm, and is such a good formula it is used by one of our friendly competitors.
Our SPF 15 Lip Balm uses a premium quality formula of organic base ingredients paired with a natural zinc oxide mineral sunblock/sunscreen. And better yet, our lip balm formula uses non-nanoparticle zinc oxide which is the size you don't have to worry about.
Our Lip Balm is SPF rated at 15 and water-resistant rated at 80 minutes.
When researching our new lip balm with sunblock formula, we looked for one that has both an organic base formula and a natural sunscreen sunblock. There are many natural lip balms on the market, but the majority use chemical sunscreens. Others may use a natural mineral sunscreen like Zinc Oxide, but then use petrolatum and/or artificial base ingredients. You also find some Zinc Oxide and/or Titanium Dioxide sunscreens that also have Oxybenzone and/or other chemical sunscreens mixed in. Always read the labels.
Doesn't non-nano zinc oxide leave a white shadow Generally, yes, but for our formula to achieve an SPF 15 rating requires less zinc oxide in the formula and one particular ingredient is added especially for the zinc oxide – the Polyhydroxystearic acid (only sounds scary, it is natural and safe) suspends and disperses the zinc oxide evenly minimizing any white shadowing effect.
Think about it, if you're putting a lip balm with artificial ingredients and chemical sunscreens onto your lips, aside from the skin absorption you are also going to be inadvertently ingesting those ingredients. Our formula is all-natural and organic, it is non-toxic. What about viscosity - thicknessThe zinc oxide does make the lip balm consistency slightly thicker than SPF lip balms with chemical sunscreens, but it still glides on smooth.
